Sunday Service Recap: June 15, 2014

June 16, 2014

Redeemer Church

Champaign-Urbana, IL

Song: Revelation Song, words and music by Jennie Lee Riddle

We started the service today singing a song about the glory of Christ,  Taken from Revelation 5 this song reminds us of the holiness and majesty of Christ.  As we look upon His holiness we are reminded of our sinfulness and need of a savior.

Welcome

Scripture Reading: Psalm 32

Psalm 32 calls us to repent of our sins to acknowledge our sin before our holy God in a time when he may be found.  It also calls us to rejoice in the steadfast love of the Lord.

Time of confession

Song: Psalm 145, words and music by Dustin Kensrue

In a response to our time of confession Psalm 145 calls us to praise the Lord for who He is and all He has done, “Such a vast, unsearchable greatness, Great is Yahweh, worthy of all our praise…” we are also reminded that God “upholds the one who is stumbling… …blessing all that look to their Lord in hope!”

Song: Our God Saves, words and music by Paul Baloche

After hearing a clear and compelling gospel message we had the opportunity to sing the gospel together again by recounting the work of Christ on the cross.  Praise God for his unbelievable grace!
