July 27, 2014

Redeemer Church

Champaign-Urbana, IL

Call to Worship: God is Able by Reuben Morgan, Ben Fielding

Time of Confession

Assurance of Pardon: Psalm 30

Song: Come Praise and Glorify written by Bob Kauflin and Tim Chester

Song: Psalm 145 written by Dustin Kensrue

Scripture reading: Matthew 25:31-46

Missional prayer: Edmund Chu, Uganda

We had the privilege of praying for one of our own Redeemer members this week.  Edmund has been in Uganda for the summer, teaching children with special needs.  It is our great responsibility and joy to pray for our hard-working brother, that God would be glorified in the people of Uganda and that children Edmund teaches would have their hearts transformed by the gospel that he professes.

Song: Redeemed, Restored, Forgiven written by Henry Williams Baker and Matthew Smith

Song: By Grace, written by Caleb Billingsley

Song:  The Church’s One Foundation written by Samuel John Stone

Sermon: Ephesians 6:21-24, The Mutual Encouragement of our Union with Christ

Proposition: Those who are united in Christ earnestly seek to care for and bless each other.

  1. Because we are united in Christ, we show care and concern for our brethren (21-22)
  2. Because we are united in Christ, we seek God’s blessings for our brethren (23-24)

Song of Response: And Can it Be? written by Charles Wesley

In response to finishing up the book of Ephesians we reminded one another of the gospel by singing this glorious old hymn from Charles Wesley.  There is nothing like singing the truths of the gospel together with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

Benediction: Ephesians 6:23-24
